The making of a prayer shawl is a spiritual practice which embodies our thoughts and prayers for the receiver. It is a gift freely given with no strings attached. Made in prayer, the shawls are passed on hand-to-hand and heart-to-heart.
Shawls may be used for solace when undergoing medical procedures, as a comfort after a loss and in times of stress, during bereavement, as well as for prayer time and meditation.
Our Newest Ministry was Organized January 28, 2018, by a group of ladies dedicated to this project. At the moment, nine (9) persons have shown interest in this specialized ministry. The group has several knitted shawls ready to distribute to those in need. All shawls will be dedicated and prayed over by the CUMC congregation before being given to recipients. Deanne Todd is the contact person for this very special ministry.
